Carol Christine Carter

Carol Christine Carter, 87, of Fenton, Missouri passed away peacefully October 30, 2024. Carol was the oldest child born to Oscar and Audrey Anderson.

Carol grew up in Webster Groves. After high school, she attended the University of Missouri where she was a 1957 calendar girl, and a proud member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority.

In 1958, Carol married Michael Carter. They had two sons and a daughter — Danny, Matt and Sarah. While raising her family in Fenton, Carol drove a school bus for the Parkway School District. To make extra money, she went door-to-door selling World Book encyclopedias before transitioning to selling Avon.

Carol was an avid collector of many interesting items and collectibles.

Carol had a sense of humor. She loved comic strips, and a good joke. She especially enjoyed the great TV comedians and variety shows of her era. She kept entertained and up with the world around her by watching TV, reading books and newspapers.

Carol enjoyed visiting with her friends and her cousins.  Playing board games and listening to music was also a favorite pastime.

Carol was a devoted Grandma to Kenzie, Gabby and Carter. They brought much happiness to her life and together they created countless memories that will forever live on in their hearts.

She was preceded in death by her parents, son Matthew Carter, and brother David Anderson. She is survived by her son Dan Carter (Teresa) of Lenexa, KS; daughter Sarah Blink (Dave) of Longmont, CO; grandchildren, Mackenzie Rorman (Blink), Gabrielle and Carter Blink; sister Betsey Anderson of Webster Groves; sister-in-law Tomie Anderson of Salem, MO; nieces and nephew Kathy Nelson, Brad Anderson, Kristen Scott and Abby Barker.

We will miss her feisty, strong spirit.

The family requests any memorial gifts be made to World Vision International (worldvision.org)

Carol cared deeply about this charity and supported it by sponsoring a child.

Carol was always a spark of positive energy whenever we had the opportunity to see her at Anderson family gatherings or when she would come visit my mother Janet with the rest of the cousins. It was always great to see her.

Carol had a love and genuine interest in people, sing-a-longs, fun, and family gatherings. I looked up to her as a child, and enjoyed visiting her with the many cousin reunions every time I visited St. Louis. I will miss her but am grateful for good memories of times spent with her.

Such a beautiful picture and memory of Carol! I’m grateful that I got to see her several times when visiting St Louis these past few years. She was always easy to talk to and it was a pleasure catching up with her. Looking back on lots of cherished family memories from our get-togethers at Janet’s when we were kids. There were a lot of characters in that bunch! 💕

Fondly remembered and forever in our hearts. Joy

Carol was a welcome companion to my mother in her retirement community after my father died. Having companionship with a family member with some shared history was meaningful to my mom. I suspect sharing old stories and memories was a reciprocal part of this friendship they both enjoyed, and I’m glad Carol took time to make this happen. Ted
