Carol Jean Schuster Gronau was born August 26, 1936, in Golden, Illinois, to parents John and Jennie Herren Schuster.

She was a member of St. Marks Evangelical Lutheran Church in Clayton, MO. Carol enjoyed volunteering for the St. Louis Zoo, SSM, and Washington University, and was president of Readings is Fundamental. After she retired, she enjoyed traveling, having been to all seven continents and too many countries to count.

Survivors include her step-children, Jane and Gary, and many loving relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Axel Gronau, MD, and her sister Inez Schuster Koch.

SERVICES: 6pm. Tuesday, June 15th at St. Marks Evangelical Lutheran Church in Clayton, MO. She will be interred at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery with her beloved Axel.

MEMORIALS: WildCare Institute for the Institute of Conservation Medicine at St. Louis Zoo, or St. Marks Evangelical Lutheran Church.
