Carol Kornmann
It is with heartfelt sadness that the family of Carol Ann Kornmann, nee Steinz, announces her passing following a short battle with brain cancer on December 4, 2018, at the age of 69 years.
She passed peacefully and was surrounded by family and friends in the time preceding her death. Carol, will be lovingly remembered by her children, Leslie (Tony), Jack, Jeff (Debbie), Brian (Tiffany), Sean and Alyssa (Robert). Carol, also known as Ditdoo, will be fondly remembered and missed by her six grandchildren, Hayden, Cameron, Gracie, Nolan, Bella and Grayson.
She is survived by her family, including her sister Rita (Les) Tieman, niece Rebecca, sister-in-law Cheryl and by her cousins Kathy (Bill), Karen (Gary) and Jo Marie.
Carol was preceded in death by her father, Ernest, mother, Elizabeth (Libby), and brothers Ernest Jr (Cheryl) and Joseph.
Carol’s loving devotion to her family, specifically her strong commitment to education for her children and love of her grandchildren will forever be remembered. She touched many lives and will be profoundly missed.
A fervent supporter of the Fighting Irish, Carol would wish for nothing more than a victory against Clemson this year and a subsequent 12th National Championship for Notre Dame.
A funeral mass and celebration of life will be held at Sacred Heart, Valley Park – 17 Ann Ave, Valley Park, MO 63088 – in memory of Carol on Saturday, December 8th, 2018 at 11:30am with Rev. Patrick Christopher presiding. Per Carol’s wishes, no formal memorial service will be held.
In lieu of flowers, the Kornmann family requests that donations in her memory be made to St. John Vianney High School in her name – proceeds received will be used by the Kornmann family to support the educational causes for which Carol was passionate about through the endowment of a scholarship supporting the educational goals of others.
