passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family on Thursday, August 21, 2025.

Born on September 3, 1943 to Catherine Irene (nee Button) and William Charles Golden, Carole was the oldest of three children, including two brothers: William (Gitti) and John Golden. She enjoyed a lifetime of travel as first daughter and then wife of military men and knew true love and friendship in her beloved husband Fred, who sadly preceded her in death in 2017. She is also preceded in death by both of her parents.

Carole was the most loving and fiercely protective mother of her two daughters, Katherine (James) Hansell and Kimberly (Shannon) Farmer. She was proud Nana and Lil Nini to 11 grandchildren: Katelyn, Nicole, Chelsea, Jonathan, David, Joseph, Alyssa, Gavin, Matthew, Julia, and Crystal. She was also blessed with three wonderful great-grandsons by granddaughter Chelsea (Tyler) Berrong: Nash, Briggs, and Slade.

Carole had a great love for her family, books, crocheting, the ocean, and her morning coffee.

In accordance with Carole’s wishes there will be no public memorial service.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your favorite charity in memory of Carole.
