Catherine Elizabeth Fuchs (known as Cathy Lezek), age 54, of Belleville, Illinois, passed away on Sunday, June 29, 2025, at Blue Circle Nursing Home.

Born on August 18, 1970, and raised in Belleville by Joann and Robert Fuchs, Cathy proudly served her country as a United States Marine. After her service, she made a profound impact as a school teacher in Puerto Rico and New Mexico, sharing her love of history with countless students.

She is survived by her two devoted sons, Joaquin and Diego, and her brothers, Sam and Ben. Cathy was preceded in death by her parents, Joann and Robert Fuchs.

Cathy was known for her passion for history and her incredible trivia prowess-she could always be counted on to lead any trivia team to victory.
