Charlene Bruenning

Charlene Bruenning, age 76, of O’Fallon Missouri , passed away peacefully on 03/19/2026 from unknown-possible exacerbation of COPD. Born on 11/27/1949 in St. Mary of Nazareth Hospital.

Charlene was born in Chicago, IL on Nov. 27, 1949. She was raised with her two older brothers, Paul and Richard, and younger brother Lewis. Home life wasn’t always the easiest with many trials and tribulations, but she persevered. Charlene never graduated high school. Despite this, she was a hard worker and provider for herself and her family. She went on to enjoy a vibrant career in the food service industry for most of her adult life, and despite only having a 10th grade education, she became a highly effective manager for many restaurants.

Charlene loved connecting with people and through this had loving relationships and a marriage which led her to her five beautiful children, and many friends along the way.
Charlene loved nature, in all aspects. She loved the outdoors, gardening, plants and animals. In her later years, she enjoyed the loving presence of her cats, Thaddeus and Tigger, raising house plants and socializing with others in her retirement community. Charlene had many regrets about how she had lived her younger life but loved with her whole heart her children and the potential they represented. She only wished she had more time to make up for those regrets.

Charlene was preceded in death by Her mother Lelia Jane Jones (Cox) and brother Paul Pomeroy. She is survived by her five children; Ginger (Rodney) Thompson, Monica “Renee” (Matthew) Foeller, Christopher Miera, Theresa (Jason) Hawkins and Edmund Miera, fourteen grandchildren; Tiffany, Lauren, Logan, Laney, Kaylee, Madeline, Ethan, Meghan, Cody, Nora, Eli, Olivia, Braiden and Isaiah, eight great-grandchildren; Brylie, Maverick, Kayde, Brody, Carmen, Charlotte, Ripley and Jasper, two brothers; Richard Davis and Lewis Davis, and forever friend and father to her children, Dennis Miera.

Due to her love of her two kitties, Thaddeus and Tigger, memorial contributions can be made to a animal shelter of your choice in her honor .
