Charles Ronald “Ron” Williams
Charles Ronald “Ron” Williams, 83, of Chesterfield, Missouri, passed away on June 21, 2025.
Born on August 9, 1941, in St. Louis, Ron was raised in Walnut Park and graduated from Beaumont High School in 1959. He earned a business degree from the University of Missouri, where he met his wife of 53 years, Patricia (Behring) Williams, who preceded him in death.
Early in his career, Ron worked as a draftsman (including a stint with NASA’s Gemini spacecraft design team in the 60’s) and as an accountant for Chevrolet Motors and Obear-Nester Glass Company. He dedicated the majority of his professional career to Washington University School of Medicine, beginning in the Dean’s Office in 1972 and retiring from the Department of Pathology and Immunology in 2001.
Ron loved golf, gardening, and the outdoors (“Once a Boy Scout, always a Boy Scout”). He will be remembered for his humble generosity, his dedication to family and friends, and his ability to crack a joke even in the most difficult situations. Several of his closest friends were made during his grade school years, friendships he cherished and maintained for life.
He is survived by his daughters Shannon (Mike) Higgins and Laurie (James Olson) Williams; grandchildren Jacob, Emily, Claire, Alex, and Zach; as well as his sisters, nieces, nephews, and countless dear friends.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.
