It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Cheryl Blumenkamp on March 25, 2025.

She was born on January, 17 1949 to Wayne and Loretta Sheldon of St. Louis, Mo. 

Cherie was preceded in death by her parents Wayne and Loretta Sheldon and her son Michael Fennell.

Cherie is survived by her loving husband of 40yrs, Mark Blumenkamp and her son Jeffry Fennell and his wife Jill Fennell. Surviving siblings are brothers Gary, Harry, Richard, Daniel, David, Steven and Robert Sheldon. Surviving sisters are Teresa (Sheldon) Walleman, Mary Sheldon, Cathy (Sheldon) McMullen and Nancy (Sheldon) Tichacek. Surviving grandchildren are Brendan Fennell and Marissa Fennell.

Cherie retired from Webster University in the Office of Development and Alumni. 

Cheryl loved the Great Outdoors! She and her husband, Mark loved hiking trails in state and National Parks. Those who knew Cherie knew she had a passion for nature and loved gardening with native plants and trees. Her yard was filled with beautiful flowers that she painstakingly cared for and willingly shared with friends and family. Birds and animals large and small would frequent their backyard . Many evenings were spent sitting on the deck sipping a glass of wine and having a plate of cheese and crackers while watching the wildlife visit their yard.
