Cheryl A. Wright (nee Brown) RN

Asleep in Jesus Friday May 18, 2012. Beloved daughter of the late Harris T and Rose Marie K Brown; loving mother of James, Justin (grandmother of Matthew) and Joshua Wright; cherished sister Debora (David) Neale; aunt of Kathryn (Mark) Baur; great aunt of Matthew and Joseph Baur; cousin and friend to many.

Cheryl attended Missouri Baptist School of Nursing to become an RN as she had a great love of the nursing field and caring for others. Starting as a young woman she became a candy striper at Christian Northwest hospital and worked there after receiving her degree. Cheryl later worked at St Joseph’s Hospital in St Charles, and other hospitals including one in Dallas, TX. During her career she worked in several nursing homes in the area, at Blue Cross Blue Shield as a case reviewer; and as school nurse for the Hazelwood School district elementary schools – McNair, Russell, Townsend, and Arrowpoint). She was also active in the PTA and Mother’s club at Twillman making a quilt for the retiring principal with the classes designing the quilt squares.

Cheryl loved animals, gardening, and crafts; quilting, sewing, crocheting, drawing and painting. Always giving of herself and thinking of others she donated preemie baby clothes to Cardinal Glennon, and Afghans and lap robes to the Veterans hospital. Cheryl also volunteered with the greyhound rescue through which she had adopted quite a few dogs.

Memorial donations to the Humane Society of Missouri www.hsmo.org or the SSM Hospice program www.ssmhospicefoundation.com would greatly be appreciated. Many thanks to Charlotte, Alyses, and Susan the Hospice nurses who lovingly cared for Cheryl and St Mary’s Health Center.

A memorial service will be held at Chapel of the Cross Lutheran Church 11645 Benham Road on Thursday May 31, 2012 at 7 pm in honor of Cheryl’s life accomplishments.
