Christine E. Harper
Christine E. Harper (nee’ Perniciaro,) passed from this life January 4, 2013; beloved wife of Theodore “Ted” Harper; adoring mother of Mark Evan Perniciaro; dear step-mother of Rebecca (Jason) Lehr and Sara Harper; darling grandmother of Addie and Grace; also survived by her beloved brother, John (Maggie) Perniciaro, and predeceased by her loving parents, John and Eunice Perniciaro; loving aunt, niece, cousin and dear friend to many.
Chris dearly loved life and people. She worked for many years as a legal assistant, was passionate about theatre and music, played the piano and for some years, was a member of the chorus of the Bach Society of St. Louis. Chris was also a dedicated bridge player and was known to enjoy an occasional evening at the casino.
Those of us left behind will always remember her infectious laugh and her tremendous ability for making each and every one of us feel uniquely important and loved.
The family will receive friends at 10:00 am, Saturday, January 11, 2014 at St. Margaret of Scotland Catholic Church in the Shaw Neighborhood. Visitation will be followed by Mass at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the American Cancer Society.
I share in your grief on the passing of my dear friend, Chris. Chris was a very special person – her smile and her laugh lit up a room – she adored her family and was quick to share stories of them. Although I’ve only met Ted and Mark, I feel as if I know you all and my sincere sympathy goes out to each and every one of you. I will miss my bridge buddy – we weren’t great bridge players, but we had a blast whenever we played! Rest in peace, my dear friend!
Having watched Chris grow up with our kids and as we played Bunco with Eunice we are very sorry to hear of her passing. Our love and prayers are with her family. Janet Remmers, Sylvia Granda, Jean Koebbe.
I’m saddened to learn of the loss of Chris. We spent our “youth” working together for many years and, since her “retirement” after losing her parents so close together, I’ve never found anyone else who could fill her shoes. I fondly remember our time together and how we shared both the joys and trials of our lives. My prayers are with her and her family. I wish I could attend what I am sure will be a lovely service but I will be out of town.
I was sorry to hear of Christine’s passing. I want to share my favorite memories of growing up with Christine: playing Barbies on a blanket in my front yard, drawing chalk houses all over my driveway and roller skating & dancing on her carport.
