Christine Pierce
Christine “Chris” Pierce, 74, passed away peacefully December 7, 2023 in her home, surrounded by her family and her dogs. Chris was born June 22, 1949 in Memphis, TN to Roy and Mildred Schaefer. She was married to Jeffrey Pierce who preceded her in death. Chris is survived by her partner Michael Matthews, children Melissa (Tim) Luecke, Paige (Zac) Blodget, and James (Marissa Favazza) Pierce, grandchildren Ellen, Anderson, and Nicholas Luecke and Sam and Esme Blodget, brother Kurt (Jenny) Schaefer and brother-in-law David (Joyce) Pierce.
Chris was fiercely devoted to and proud of her kids and grandkids. She had a lifelong love and gift for making things grow (plants of all kinds) and caring for animals, particularly her black-and-tan dogs. She was endlessly curious and loved a good conversation, discussing books, current events, and movies.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday June 29, 1-3, at St Richard School, 1121 Schuetz Rd 63146.
Christine was one of my best friends. She was the sister I never had. I miss her enthusiasm for her children/grand children, and her sneaky sense of humor. An amazing friend.
Not sure how she put up with all the noise James and I would make in the basement. Hours of practicing drums and guitar. We’d go upstairs afterwards only to be met with enthusiasm and encouragement. Such a supportive and patient Mom. Rest in peace, Christine.
