Christopher G. Tinker

Christopher G. Tinker’s beautiful soul passed on August 13, 2019.

Chris was, more than anything, a family man. He could grouse but if you looked close enough it showed how truly vulnerable he was. His heart was giant and genuine. He personified the words of Matthew 25:34-40, giving of his time, money and the fruits of his large garden.

Chris was a retired union carpenter, an accomplished gardener and a great shuffleboard player. Music is the language of the heart and Chris was fluent in it. He loved to listen, dance, sing and play guitar.

Chris was devoted to his family, including his wife, Terrie Tinker (Knight), children Amy, Christin & Johnathan (Lauren) Tinker, grandchildren Saturn, Trent, Jaxson & Lucy, sister Vicky Sparks (James), sister-in-law Brenda Tinker, in-laws Robert & Regina Knight, Kathy Wharton (Bill), Jim Knight (Janet), Mike Knight (Lily), Mary Jo Voltz (Mark), Sean Knight, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was also devoted to close friends Mark & Julie Polson and Ron McMillan.

Preceding him in death are his mother Allene Polly Brockman (Woodham), father Fred Tinker, stepson Matthew Spencer, brothers Larry (Brenda), Mark, Phillip, sister Kathleen Tinker, sister-in law Patricia Roennigke (Knight) and brother-in-law Thomas Knight.

Services to be held on Friday, August 23, 2019 at Jilly’s Cafe & Steakhouse, 1630 Gravois Rd, High Ridge. Visitation from 2-4, with Memorial Service at 4 and Celebration of Life until 8 pm.

Informal burial on Saturday, August 24, 2019 at 11 a.m. Sellers Cemetery, Davisville, MO.

In lieu of flowers please send donations to either Sellers Cemetery (336 Sellers Rd, Davisville, MO 65456) or Loaves and Fishes for St. Louis Inc.

I have known Chris for about 35 years. It was one of the friendships that I cherished the most. He was kind and generous with anything that he had, including time. He was like a brother to me. I could talk to him about anything and he always gave me such good advice. My heart is hurting badly now because I never thought I would have to ever tell him good-bye. I know Terrie, his children, grandchildren and many many friends are all suffering so very much. I send much love to them and may God give them strength to get through this. Rest In Peace sweet Christopher. I will always love you.
