Clarence Jackson

Clarence Donald Jackson, age 76 was born October 8, 1938 to the union of the late Clifton Jackson and the late Estelle Jackson. Clarence was “called home to glory” as he would have said peacefully on Friday, February 27, 2015 at St. Mary’s Hospital after a lengthy illness.

Clarence attended L’Ouverture Elementary School and graduated from Sumner High School. Clarence was employed in the Food and Beverage Industry for many years until his retirement.

Clarence accepted Christ at an early age. Clarence was a member of West Side Missionary Baptist Church where he served faithfully on the usher board for many years.

Clarence was preceded in death by two brothers; Earl and Ralph and four sisters; Virginia, Estelle, Marie and Vivian.

Clarence will be forever remembered by his life partner, Johnnie Williams; brothers Alfred and Raymond; sisters Bertha, Janette, his twin sister, Carol, Helen and Judith and a host of nieces and nephews.

Clarence loved his family and family gatherings. Clarence also loved to cook and barbecue and he was very good at both. Clarence could fix and put anything together. We often joked that “Clarence never needed any written instructions.”
Clarence was a lot of fun to be around and had a great sense of humor. Clarence also loved to entertain others in his home.
