Claude Edward Lamprecht

In Loving Memory of Claude Edward Lamprecht

October 3, 1958 – April 15, 2025

God’s Garden

God looked around His garden and found an empty place. He then looked down upon the Earth, and saw your tired face. He put His arms around you and lifted you to rest. He knew that you were suffering. He knew you were in pain. He knew that you would never get well completely on Earth again. He saw the road was getting pretty rough, and the hills were becoming harder and harder to climb. So, he closed your weary eyelids, and whispered to you, “Peace be Thine.”

It broke our hearts to lose you, but know that you were never alone, for we have always been with you, even the day God called you home.

With sorrowful hearts, we say goodbye to our beloved brother and friend Claude.

If you were his friend, you are a very special person. Claude opened his heart to very few people on Earth. Perhaps being 4th of eight children required him to protect his feelings? He would help anyone who asked; and would always share whatever he had.

Claude knew joy most of his life. He was baptized, confirmed and attended St George Catholic grade school, Bayless High School and was a 1976 graduate of South County Technical High School’s Ornamental Horticulture program. Claude was destined to work to maintain God’s green Earth. After 4 years of active service in the US Army and 2 years in the reserves, he was honorably discharged and returned to St. Louis to work as a lineman for Charter Communications and then for the Archdiocese of St. Louis at Resurrection Cemetery in ground maintenance. His knowledge and love for the great outdoors allowed him opportunities to work in the Parks Departments for the City of Kirkwood and the City of Crestwood. Despite the physically demanding work, he took great pride maintaining the parks for the enjoyment of the communities that he served.

Throughout his life, Claude shared joyful times with family and friends but mostly enjoyed being outdoors. He enjoyed camping at the Gasconade River, fishing, hunting and beer drinking (of course). He loved to work in his shop; he enjoyed fixing things and always called in brothers Mike and George if he couldn’t figure it out. Beyond everything, he loved his siblings in his own special way.

However, a 2002 accident at his home forever changed his physical health and, in retrospect, his outlook on life. The surgeries over the next couple of years and his body’s inability to mend drastically impacted his livelihood and life-joy of being outdoors. Recovery from his 2023 stroke further separated Claude from the life he deserved. The chronic pain of his injuries and the effects of the stroke became too much to endure. Claude attained the age of 66 and will always be remembered for his courage during difficult times.  In death, he is finally at rest without pain and suffering.

Claude is lovingly remembered as a brother to Vera, George, Louise Mullen, Nancy, Michael, Robert and Cathy Pritchett. He is remembered as uncle to Jason Ryder, Celia and Paton Lamprecht and brother-in-law to Terri (nee Brda) Lamprecht, Kristin (nee Kreamer) Lamprecht and Jeff Pritchett. Claude was a first cousin to 43 on the Missel side of the family and 4 on the Lamprecht side.

Claude is preceded in death by parents Claude Albert Lamprecht and Louise Gertrude (nee Missel) Lamprecht, who instilled in him the values of hard work and love of family. Claude is also preceded in death by niece Baby Linda Ryder, brother-in-law Mark Mullen and many aunts and uncles who helped shape Claude’s early life in ways only he knew.
