Connie Reynolds (nee Spratt) of Arnold, Missouri passed on peacefully the morning of
September 17th at the age of 83. Connie was born in Hodgenville, Kentucky. She graduated
from Larue County High School in 1960, completed her Bachelor’s Degree at Eastern Kentucky
University in 1964, and received her Master’s Degree in Education from Southern Illinois
University at Edwardsville in 1992.

Connie is preceded in death by her sister, Hope Sidebottom (nee Spratt), her mother, Lois Spratt (nee Beams), her father, Edward Spratt, and her son-in-law, Darryl Duessel.

Connie is lovingly remembered by her children, David Christian Reynolds and Nicole Duessel
(nee Reynolds); her grandchildren, Taylor Reynolds, Shelby Duessel and Christopher Duessel;
her brother, David Spratt and sister-in-law, Diane Spratt; her niece, Heather Jones, and
additional nieces, nephews and cousins; and countless former students throughout the Midwest.

Connie taught within secondary education classrooms in Ohio and Kansas throughout her early
teaching career. She began teaching Business Education classes at Kirkwood High School in
1987, dedicating over 20 years to the district until her retirement in May 2007. Connie also
taught night classes at Saint Louis Community College, with a strong belief that education
should be accessible at all ages.

Known as “Nana” to many who knew and loved her, Connie provided a loving, compassionate
environment for all. An avid lover of any warm environment, Connie’s favorite experiences
included trips to Jamaica and Hawaii. When unable to locate a beach, she enjoyed lounging by
her backyard pool – ideally with her grandchildren or family friends swimming! Connie greatly
enjoyed reading, especially Danielle Steel novels, and hosted many Bridge game nights with
friends. For several years after retirement, Connie volunteered as a caretaker for children during
Mothers of Preschoolers meetings at Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church. Connie had a great
love for animals, with dogs and fish in her household at all times.

Rather than a funeral service, Connie has requested a small event with family to celebrate her
life. So she may always be near a beautiful beach, her grandchildren plan to scatter her ashes
in Florida.
