Daniel Howard Thayer

June 5th, 1945 – November 9th, 2024

Daniel Howard Thayer passed away suddenly at 9:02pm on Saturday, November 9th, 2024 at the age of 79. He was born in St. Louis, Missouri on June 5th, 1945.

He was predeceased by his parents, Harold and Peggy (Beeson) Thayer, his brother, Richard Thayer, daughter, Tracy Thayer, (2013) and granddaughter, Christina Thayer (2024).

Daniel is survived by his Wife of 39 years, Patricia Ann (Bergen) Thayer. He will be lovingly remembered by his Daughter, Sherri Lynn Stephens, Grandson, Ryan Thayer Stephens, four Granddaughters, Toni Lynn Stephens, Amanda Gene Stephens, Kristal Lee Thayer, and Kristen Jacqueline Navarro. 7 Great Grandchildren, Mark, Kami, Spencer, Sebastian, Aerianna, Gabriella and Mariah. 1 Great-Great Grandchild, Aiden, and countless friends and acquaintances.

He was a proud Vietnam Veteran and a proud member of his local Moose Lodge and American Legion. He was a two time Purple Heart recipient as well as many other service awards and Commendations. Nothing made him happier than spending time with his loving family and friends.

The family will hold a private service at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery at a later date.

Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to DAV (Disabled American Veterans) in Daniels memory.

    To know my grandpa was to love him. He was an incredible, loving, and caring man, and he made any gathering more fun. I’m so thankful that my children got to know him before he was so suddenly taken from us. He will be greatly missed. We love you grandpa.
