Darlene Lee McCoy (née Settlemoir), of Arnold, Missouri, passed away on April 4, 2025, at the
age of 89. Born on June 26, 1935, in St. Louis, Missouri, Darlene was a devoted wife, mother,
aunt, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She found deep fulfillment in caring for and
supporting her family, which was always the center of her life.
Darlene was an avid crafter and took great pride in her creativity. She was also a former
member of the Ladies Auxiliary at the Meramec-Arnold Elks, where she enjoyed friendship and
community involvement.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harry McCoy, and her siblings, Judith
Thorp (Gene), Gerald Settlemoir, and Kenneth Settlemoir (Charlotte).
She is survived by her children, Diane Massingham (Keith), Jim Hertel (Linda), Terri McGowan
(Mike), and Dean McCoy (Heidi); her grandchildren, Nikki DeClue, John Fehrman, Sam Hertel,
Nadia Turner, Jimmy Bober, and Sarah Bober; her great-granddaughter, Hayley; and many
beloved nieces and nephews.
Her love of family, generosity of spirit, and gentle presence will be remembered always.
A private service will be held to honor her life.
