David Schutte
David Schutte, age 71, of Bridgeton, Missouri, passed away peacefully on November 4, 2026, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
Dave had a deep love for the outdoors and found great joy in hunting and fishing. A true music fan with a distinctive look and style, he was frequently told he resembled Rod Stewart—a comparison he thoroughly enjoyed. He also took great pride in his April 20th birthday (4/20), a date that perfectly suited his fun-loving and laid-back personality.
A skilled appliance repairman and handyman, Dave was known for his ability to fix just about anything. He proudly carried on his father’s legacy by taking over the family business, Billco Appliance, continuing a tradition of hard work, craftsmanship, and dedicated service to his community.
Dave was preceded in death by his father, Bill Schutte; his mother, Betty Schnelle; his stepfather, Fred Schnelle; and his nephew, Brett Schutte.
He is survived by his lifelong partner of 36 years, Penny Patrick, with whom he shared a lifetime of love and companionship. He is also survived by his older brother, Randy (Brenda); his younger sister, Donna; nieces and nephews Megan Schutte, Clayton and Sabrina Jostes, Lauren and Ross Kastens, Breanna and Matt Angell, and Anthony and Iolanda Russo; great-nephews Ryan, Julian, Roman, Brayden, Tripp, Calvin, and Oscar; and great-nieces Marijeta, McKenna, and Quincey.
Memorial Contributions In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in Dave’s honor to a pancreatic cancer research organization of your choice to help advance research and support others affected by this disease.
