David Wayne Johns of St. Louis, MO passed away on Tuesday, January 13, 2026 at BJC Hospital in St. Louis at the age of 65.
Dave was born in St. Louis, MO on August 14, 1960 to Dwight and Hiawatha Johns. He resided on Cherokee Street in south St. Louis and had 3 other siblings – Barb, Carla and Terry. He, served in the Army National Guard, and was honorably discharged back in 1983. He worked as a field surveyor for many years, with his final job being at a local office supply warehouse as a product specialist.
Dave loved baseball, hockey, fishing, hunting and really just about anything that had to do with the outdoors. An avid trout fisherman, he would make several trips to Missouri’s trout parks a year. Dave was also a fan of NASCAR, having been to Daytona for the Daytona 500, WWT Raceway for several car and truck races, along with NHRA races at the same facility.
He is now reunited with his parents, Dwight and Hiawatha, his youngest brother, Terry Johns (Kathy), along with both his maternal and paternal grandparents. David is survived by his daughter Nickie, his grandson, Jordan, his two sisters, Barbara Payne (David) and Carla Senseney (Charles), his nieces and nephews, and many friends.
A celebration of life will be held in the near future.
