Deborah “Debbie” Joan Gibson

Deborah “Debbie” Joan Gibson (née Bressler), 69, entered eternal rest suddenly on March 3, 2026.

Debbie was born on November 3, 1956, in Missouri to John F. Bressler (2020) and Velma J. Huff (2004). She attended Roosevelt High School.

She was preceded in death by her cherished son, Matthew Gibson (2017); the father of her children, George Gibson (2020); her parents; her beloved sister, Dorothy “Jean” Calbreath (née Bressler) (2015); and her great-niece, Randi Phelps (2010).

Family was the center of Debbie’s world. She was a devoted mother to her children, Matthew and Stacie, and a loving “second mom” to many who were blessed to know her. She is survived by her daughter, Stacie Gray; her cherished “adopted sons and daughter,” Ricky Belcher of St. Louis, Missouri, Ronnie Gray (Glenda) of Tennessee, and Manuela “Monica” Duran of Missouri; her niece, Lorie Ann Bressler-Phelps of Pacific, Missouri, with whom she made her home; her nephew, John Bressler of Missouri; and many extended family members and dear friends.

Debbie was a proud and fiercely loving grandmother whose love will be treasured always by her grandchildren: Kaitlyn Gray (fiancé Casey) of Ringgold, Georgia; Briahna Newman (husband Aiden) of St. Louis, Missouri; Tristyn Danford; Tate Danford; Khloe Gibson of Birch Tree, Missouri; Jaydyn Brooks (mother Roxanne) of Birch Tree, Missouri; Gabe Derryberry (mother Nichole) of Winona, Missouri; and Mattilyn Hurtgen. Her legacy continues through her 5-year-old great-grandson, Matthew Gray of Ringgold, Georgia, whom she loved watching discover new things.

Debbie worked for many years at Town and Country in Mountain View, Missouri, before she retired, where she was known for a familiar face that made everyone feel remembered. Outside of work, she cherished time with her family above all else. She especially loved taking her grandchildren to the river to swim, fish, and let their wild energy run free. She opened her home and her heart, helping raise many of her grandchildren and enjoying watching her great-great-niece, Alexia, grow alongside Lorie and Tony Gasaway in Pacific, Missouri, during the last few years as she resided with them.

She shared a special bond with her best friend of 50 years, Shiela McCabe, whom she considered a sister. Debbie valued family unity and remained close with her late former husband, George, and his widow, Lisa Gibson, sharing in the joy of watching their grandchildren grow. She had a rare gift — she could make you laugh when you felt like crying and gave the best hugs. Iron-willed and set in her ways, she was also one of the most loving and fiercely loyal people you could ever meet.

Debbie’s kindness, strength, humor, and unwavering love will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Her life was a testament to devotion — to family, to resilience, and to love without limits.

She will be cremated, and her ashes will be laid to rest with her cherished son. A celebration of life will be held with family at a later date.
