Deborah Geer
Deborah S. Geer
December 23, 1954 – December 16, 2025
Deborah S. Geer, a woman whose smile could light up a city and whose laugh was the heartbeat of every gathering, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by the family she championed, on December 16, 2026. She was 70 years old.
Born in St. Louis, Missouri, on December 23, 1954, to the late Floyd and Esther Alspach, Deborah spent her life being “the mom” to everyone. Whether you were her child by blood or by friendship, if you were in her orbit, you were protected, fed, and loved fiercely.
A Legacy of Joy and Jazz
Deborah lived life with the volume turned up. Her home was often filled with the smooth sounds of jazz and the latest world news from PBS. She was an incredible chef who viewed recipes as mere suggestions; much like her mother before her, she kept her secret ingredients close to her heart, ensuring her dishes remained as legendary as her personality.
A true social butterfly, Deborah was always the life of the party and never met a piece of gossip she didn’t want to discuss. She was rarely seen without her signature high heels and a sharp wit. While we were certainly not ready to say goodbye, Deborah likely had the final word. In her own famous phrasing: “Not right now.”
Those Who Carry Her Light
Deborah’s legacy lives on through the family she adored:
Children: Her son, Matt, and daughter, Angie (Darby).
Siblings: Her brother, Scott (Katie), and sisters, Amy (Jason) and Ann (Rodney).
Grandchildren: Kaitlyn (Travis) and Haley.
Great-Grandchildren: Rockie and Ozzie.
Nieces & Nephews: Ave, Enzo, Liam, Noah, Remington, and Brock.
Dear Friends: Jeff and Mark, her beloved hairdresser David, and countless others who felt her warmth.
She is reunited in peace with her adoring parents, Floyd and Esther.
Final Wishes
In keeping with Deborah’s vibrant spirit and explicit request, no formal services will be held. She never wanted a somber room; instead, she asked that those who knew her share their favorite “Deb stories,” keep the joy alive in their hearts, and imagine her somewhere in those high heels, dancing the night away.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to:
