Deborah McDermott

Deborah Marie McDermott-January 31, 1965 – July 30, 2022

Beloved sister of Denise Stevenor, Bridget (Douglas) Munsell, Caroline Dressman, Ronald McDermott, and Gregory (Lesley) McDermott. She was a caring niece, cousin, aunt, and friend. Debbi’s greatest joy was her two cats: Jimmy and Daisy.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Janice, and Dennis McDermott, and we are all comforted in knowing that they have been reunited along with Debbi’s recently departed pets, Pippin, Rugan, and Frodo to name a few.

Debbi suffered from Juvenile Diabetes and thyroid disease for 42 years, but she never gave up. She was fiercely independent and strong willed, but her body was never as strong as her spirit. She was always so concerned about others who she felt suffered more. We are heartbroken.
Debbie deeply cared about many things. In her memory, plant a flower, adopt a kitty, support causes that are concerned with healthcare, civil rights, women’s rights, children, and animal welfare but most importantly, she would want you to be sure to get out and vote.

A Celebration of Life for Debbi is planned for Saturday, August 27, 2022, at Orlando’s Event Center South, 4300 Hoffmeister Ave, St. Louis, MO 63125 from 1:00 – 4:00 pm. Please RSVP to Denise Stevenor at dstevenor@orlandogardens.com.

Beautiful words for Debbi… my heart is with you all. She was part of my childhood and I will lift up her memory and smile — thinking about her having a great time around the kitchen table (on those two long benches) with all the loved ones she is joining. No more aching body; only joy. Peace to Debbi and to all the McDemotts grieving her.
