Debra Kaye Williams
Debra Kaye Williams was born February 4th, 1964, in St. Louis, Missouri to loving parents Sylvester and Lula Mae Williams. Due to complications at birth, Debra, suffered severe brain damage, causing developmental disabilities. Despite such disabilities, Debra’s parents never wavered in bringing her up, just like the rest of their children in the ‘discipline and admonition of Jehovah God.’
Debra attended and graduated from both the Gateway Metro and Hubert Wheeler Special Schools. There she learned many important social and physical skills from one of her favorite teachers and spiritual sisters, Earnestine Pritchard of the University City Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Debra never allowed anyone to look down on her because of her disabilities. She considered herself to be just like everyone else.
Most importantly, Debra loved Jehovah. Debra understood God’s name is Jehovah, and His son’s name is Jesus Christ. Prior to her Christian meetings and field ministry, she would often say simply, ‘Hall,’ which was her way of letting everyone in the house know, it was time to put their clothes on, grab their bags and head to the Kingdom Hall. Even after her parents died, she knew she belonged to Jehovah as was evident in her constant attendance and participation at her congregation meetings. As a child, Debra was never left behind when it came to spiritual activities. And as an adult, she became the pioneer partner and ‘road dog’ of her loving caregiver and sister, Sylvia.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Irvin Williams and Lula Mae Williams, her father Sylvester Williams, her mother Lula Mae Williams and her younger brother Mark Keith Williams aka ‘Kee’ (Tracey).
Debra leaves to cherish her memory, her sister Sylvia Ann Williams aka ‘Siyah or momma,’ her brother Sanford Irvin Williams aka ‘Fanford, French Fry, or Daddy,’ her brother Samuel Lamont Williams aka ‘Mont or Baby’ (Aneesah), her Uncle Glenn Williams, her niece Shae Danielle Burns (Dylan), her nephew Sean Corey Williams, her nephew and niece Fonshell and Brandon Williams, her nephew Camron Williams, a host of cousins from St. Louis, New Orleans, and Raleigh Durham along with even more friends and spiritual family who loved Deb so much.
Debbie was such a delightful young lady. She always showed a smile when she saw you. She loved being at the meetings at Kingdom Hall. She will be truly missed. She’s sleeping now. Looking forward to Jehovah’s blessings of the Resurrection
