Debra Louise Mueller
July 3rd, 1952 – January 31st, 2024
With great sorrow and bittersweet gratitude, the Mueller, Bertchume, and Kennamann families announce the sudden passing of our dear wife, mother, grandmother, and friend Debra Louise Mueller (nee) Green.
At the age of 71, Debi had built a loving circle of family and friends whom she loved fiercely – no one more than her three children; sons John Kennamann Jr., Eric (Stephanie) Mueller, and daughter Amy Bertchume. Those children bestowed what Debi saw as her most cherished gift, five grandchildren; Kaleb Higgins, Wyatt and Jacob Bertchume, and Lucy and Charlotte Mueller.
Family was at the core of all Debi did, a lesson she learned early on from her parents John and Myrna (Gebauer) Green, who preceded her in death. She is also now reunited with her brother Randy Green whom she missed dearly. Missing them are brother Tracy (Diane) Green, aunt Jayne (Clint) Kasten, and cousins Kristi, Taylor, and Mclaren Huckaba.
Debi lived in St. Louis her whole life, marrying her husband Thomas Mueller on August 15, 1975. She was happiest with the sun shining on her face and the sand between her toes, traveling to the beach whenever possible. She was a loyal sewing machine manager at Jackman’s Fabrics for more than 18 years, though she could have had a second career as a personal shopper with her keen eye and sense of style. She was an avid movie fan, never missing an opening weekend, and loved to share a review (but not her popcorn!).
She died suddenly on January 31, 2024, and her passing has left a hole in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Service will be held at St. Louis Cremation on February 9th, 2024 from 2-5PM.

Debi my friend, bestie, my sister, what am I going to do without you. Our friendship over 42 years can’t possibly be put into words. We have shared so much over the years. I can’t imagine not texting or talking to you everyday & doing crazy things together whenever just because. My heart is aching but I know we will meet up again one day & God is taking care of you. Until then my friend, love you❤️
Oh Debi I hope you had a grand reunion with your mom and dad and Randy. You will be so dearly missed. Amy,Eric,John,Tom I’m thinking about you all.
Rest easy in the Lord’s arms my dear friend ❤️
There are so many who will miss your beautiful smile and friendship. I’ll miss you 💔
God speed my friend. My deepest sympathy to all of her family.
Debi was awesome. I remember so many nights hanging out with John, Eric, and Amy over at Debi and Tom’s house. It always felt so comfortable. Debi was one of the rare moms that was fun to hang out with (and watch Jerry Springer with!). She was a great mother and person. I always figured we’d get to hang out again and reminisce. I’m extremely sad we won’t. My heart breaks for Tom, the kids, and the grandchildren. Rest in peace Debi, you will be missed. ❤️
Debi and I met in elementary school and enjoyed a close friendship growing up and attending the same school together. She was always such a positive, fun and feisty friend. I am saddened as I just found out about her passing. My sympathy goes out to her family and friends as they grieve and also remember how very special she was. May God bring comfort and peace in knowing she is celebrating in heaven.
Our deepest condolences to the family. Debi was a sweetheart and loved deeply. She will be missed.
