Dennis McKinney
Denny left his earthly home to join his Heavenly Father and earthly father, Lee McKinney, in Heaven on January 20, 2019. He leaves to mourn his loss his mother June, his sister Dena Spain (Kim), his brother Dino (Theresa), his niece Natalie Spain, nephews Aaron and Nathan Spain, Ryan and Cody McKinney, and aunt Debbie Kimberlin (Kurt). The family will be forever grateful to Denny’s best friend, Christy for her loving care during the final weeks of his life.
Denny was a man who loved his family, loved following his father’s and brother’s basketball coaching careers, and loved his faithful feline companion, Gordon. He was proud of his godson Cody’s athletic endeavors and being Uncle Denny to all his nephews and his niece. He will be missed by his many friends from his Fontbonne University days.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in his memory to the Coach Lee McKinney Scholarship at Fontbonne University or a charity of your choice. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, February 10th at 4:00 PM at North County Community Church, 7410 Howdershell Road, Hazelwood, MO. 63042
Very sorry for your loss. Denny was a wonderful person and a good friend to Sherri and me these past few years. Love and prayers.
My sincerest condolences to the McKinney family. Reading Mr. McKinney’s obituary lets me know I wish I could have met him. As a neighbor I’m desiring to leave a note of comfort and let you know others care. Praying that the God of all comfort be with the family for months and years to come to ease your pain. 2 Corinthians 1:3,4.
My love extends to your entire family. Please know i am praying for God’s healing to be upon you. May the peaceful moments be spent with Denny in spirit, and may he and Lee’s presence forever lighten your paths.
Love,
Wendy (Stojeba) Schneider
I’m so sorry to hear of Denny’s passing. He was such a kind, caring, & compassionate friend. I will miss our many conversations about Coach McKinney & the girls Dena & I used to coach. I am sad he is gone but I take comfort in the fact that he is no longer suffering.
Just googled him to see where he was nowadays. This is heart breaking. This man taught me alot about doing business when i was selling fireworks for him here in oklahoma from age 12-16ish. He was One of the greatest people i’ve ever had the privelage to mee in my life. Rest easy coach, i’ll see ya when they let me in those gates.
