Dennis Tullman

Dennis Tullman passed away peacefully on August 2, 2026.  Beloved husband of Marlene Tullman (Thaller) for 58 years; loving father of Donna (John) Garza and Laurie (Bart) Saettele. Papa to Emilie, Alex, Claire, Adam & Matthew. Dearest brother to Curt (Sherry) Tullman and dear brother-in-law to Ken Thaller. Dennis is preceded in death by his parents Frank and Thelma Tullman (Dooley).

Dennis was born in Saint Louis, MO and moved to Davenport, IA for his child and teenage years, until he joined the US Army in 1961. He then moved back to St. Louis and worked as a draftsman and packaging analyst at McDonnell Douglas for 30 years. He retired in 1994. Upon retirement Dennis enjoyed staying active by working at part-time jobs and doing lots of volunteering at the parish school and in many roles at St. Timothy/St. Mark’s parish. He met wonderful friends during these years who faithfully stayed in touch with him and visited during his days of illness. Dennis loved to exercise. In his earlier years, he enjoyed his 2 mile 4:00 am runs, handball/racquetball, golf, biking, and more recently daily walks around his neighborhood that often turned into friendly conversations. His hobbies included drawing and a vast collection of transportation items he curated over the years. His meticulous craftsmanship was evident in the models he built.

Dennis’s spirit was defined by his kindness, spirituality and dedication to helping anyone who needed him. He was a beloved volunteer and a very involved dad, coaching countless sports teams his daughters were on over the years. His happiest times were with his family, and he adored his five grandchildren.

A memorial mass will be held on Friday August 21st at St. Mark’s Catholic Church, located at 4220 Ripa Ave, St. Louis, MO 63125.  Visitation begins at 9:00 am with mass at 10:00 am.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
