Diane Carol Johnstone

Johnstone, Diane Carol (nee: Halbe) of Lake Ozark, Missouri, passed away July 31, 2021 at the age of 73.

Diane was born in St. Louis, Missouri in 1948 and graduated from Affton High School where she met Donald Johnstone. She started her undergraduate degree in St. Louis at Fontbonne College. On May 25, 1968 she married Donald. Diane continued her studies at the College of St. Catherine in St Paul, Minnesota and completed her bachelor’s degree in Home Economics at Central State College in Edmond, Oklahoma.

Diane’s primary career was her family. In her loving and thoughtful approach, she found great joy in creating a warm loving home and nurturing her family and friends. She later worked as a Realtor in St. Louis and at Lake of the Ozarks.

Diane is survived by her husband of 53 years, Donald Johnstone; by her brother, David (Lisa) Halbe; by her sister, Denise (Gordon) Craig; by their three children Lisa Earnhart, Michele (Brian) Lehmann, Dave (Billye) Johnstone; and by seven grandchildren.

Diane was preceded in death by her parents, Harrison and Margaret Halbe.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1pm at Manchester United Methodist Church on Saturday, August 28, 2021, the church home where their children were raised.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to the Books for Kids Ministry of Faithbridge UMC, 901 Hwy 42, Osage Beach MO 65065.

    She was one of the kindest and welcoming people I have ever met.

    Diane was one of the most gracious people I’ve known. She seemed to float across the floor rather than walk. She seemed the same at our 50th reunion as she did at graduation in 1966.
