Dolores Schoendienst Hoff

born November 20, 1922 in Germantown, Illinois, passed away on May 29, 2018, fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church.

Beloved wife of the late Walter Hoff for 69 years. Dearest mother and mother-in-law of Joyce (William, Sr.) Day, James (Mary Ann Farrell), JoAnn (Charles) Hoehn, Mary Kathryn (Peter Stragand), Michael, Mark (Mary Carlson), Joseph and Martin (John Osborn). Grandmother to Jennifer, William, Jr., Christopher, Emily, Samuel, Claire, Cassidy, Chloe and great-grandmother of Jacob. Dolores was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Elizabeth Schoendienst, siblings Mildred, Alice, Rosemary and Herman, Jr. She is survived by siblings Evelyn, Bernice, Mary Jane, Lucille and Robert, dearest sister-in-law, aunt, cousin and friend to many. Dolores and Walter married upon his return from WWII and became lifelong parishioners of St. Margaret of Scotland Church. Dolores was past president of the Ladies Auxiliary and volunteered for many years at BJC and SLU hospitals and Meals-On-Wheels. Dolores was an avid Cardinals fan, pinochle player and loved singing and listening to music. She was a devoted mother and loved family gatherings and will be sorely missed by all.

The family wants to especially thank the staff at Our Lady of the Snows for their loving care of our parents.

Services: Visitation will be from 8:30-10:15am on Friday, June 15 at St. Margaret’s Church, 3854 Flad Ave. with a Memorial Mass to follow at 10:30am. Dolores generously donated her body to SLU Medical School. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Margaret of Scotland School or Ladies Auxiliary.
