Donald Burcham

Donald Ray Burcham, 72, passed away unexpectedly on July 2, 2026.

Born on July 2, 1954, in St. Charles, Missouri, he was the son of Kenneth Harlan Burcham and MaryAnn Ross.

While our hearts are broken by this loss, we take comfort in knowing that he spent most of his years living life to the fullest and loving those who meant the most to him.

Donnie dedicated most of his life to working in construction. He worked until his body simply wouldn’t allow him to continue—a true reflection of his remarkable work ethic, determination and strength.

He loved the outdoors and found great happiness spending time in the country hunting with his friends, riding his motorcycle, and being with his family. Whether it was a day at the racetrack, boating on the river, or taking family vacations, he cherished every opportunity to create memories that will be treasured forever.

As the years passed, he especially enjoyed traveling to the mountains of Estes Park, Colorado, a place that brought him peace, happiness and a sense of home.

Donnie had a quiet side, but those who knew him best also knew his stubborn streak—a trait that often made everyone laugh. He was quick with a joke, never afraid to speak his mind and always genuine. You never had to wonder what he was thinking, and that’s one of the many things people loved about him.

Above all else, he loved deeply. His wife, children, grandchildren, friends and his two beloved dogs, AJ and Trooper, were the center of his world. He would have done absolutely anything for the people and the things he loved.

Although his health kept him from attending many family gatherings and special moments over the last few years, his heart was always there. He wanted so badly to be present, and his love for his family never wavered.

Donnie leaves behind a lifetime of memories, laughter, lessons, and unconditional love. His family will forever remember his strength, his humor, his honesty and the unwavering love he gave so freely. Though he is no longer with us, his legacy lives on in each of us who were fortunate enough to know and love him.

He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Cindy Burcham; his children, Amanda (Austin) Burcham, Tracey (Ryan) Nadler, and Kurt Burcham; and his grandchildren, who brought him immense pride and joy: Marcus Johnson, Makenna Koch, Kaylei Koch, Emma Nadler and Allen Burcham. He is also survived by his brother, Jim (Beverly) Burcham; his sisters, Judy (Larry) Stephens, Kathy (FJ) Bizelli, and Lorie Hesselmeyer; brother in law Steve (Rachel) Ridgway; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members and countless dear friends whose lives were enriched by his kindness, humor and friendship.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

In keeping with his wishes, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Family and friends will be invited to gather, share memories and celebrate his life. Details will be announced soon.

It seems especially meaningful that Donnie’s journey both began and ended on July 2. While we wish we had been blessed with many more years, we are grateful for the 72 years we shared with him. His life was defined not by its beginning or its end, but by the love he gave, the memories he created and the countless lives he touched along the way.

He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
