Donald Charles Sweeney II passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family on November 18, 2023 at the age of 72. He was born in Fairmont, West Virginia on May 28, 1951. He was predeceased by his father Donald, mother Julia, brother Mark and sister in law Rene.

Donald is survived by his loving wife of 41 years Julia Roxanne Sweeney.

Lovingly remembered by his sons Kevin (Mei) and Cameron, as well as his brothers Gary (Lorena), Scott, Jeff (Shelley), and sister Lisa (Chris). He was a much loved brother in law to Patricia, Joe (Marie), Bonnie (Rick) and the late Jackie (Rory), and several nieces and nephews.

An avid golfer, Don retired from the Army Corps of Engineers and became a professor at the University of Missouri St. Louis where he was recognized as both a Founders Professor and Professor Emeritus.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
