Donald Dylewski

Donald G. Dylewski, age 70, on Friday, January 15, 2021. Beloved husband of Nancy Dylewski (nee Bange) and father of Andrea Dylewski (William C. Mulvey), Adam Dylewski (Dr. Corinne O’Brien), and Amanda Klein (David). Lifelong denizen and dedicated servant of the City of St. Louis, Don was in his fortieth year as an attorney with the City Counselor’s Office. A longtime resident with Nancy of the Hyde Park neighborhood, Don delighted in taking his friends, family, and colleagues through long conversations and historical tours of St. Louis landmarks and by-ways. In recent years, Don was first and foremost a devoted grandfather of six. “Papa” was a constant presence for Jack, Quinn, Charlie, Willa, Cass, and Juniper, lovingly in person and, in the challenging last year, with regular visits on video and with his trademark correspondence — handwritten on yellow legal pads, covered with stickers, and always including the reminder to “Learn Everything!” Don is survived also by his sisters Diane Nikonowicz (John) and Deborah Gerber (Fred), and many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, and cousins. Donations in Don’s memory may be made to the Missouri Botanical Garden, where Don volunteered for more than 15 years. He will be missed dearly. Services will be deferred until a later date when all can gather more safely in remembrance.
