Donald Lloyd Borthick

On Tuesday, August 13, 2019, Don Borthick passed away at the age of 79. Don was born on May 9, 1940 in St. Louis, MO. He attended Central High School and Washington University and worked as an engineer at Emerson Electric for over 40 years.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, Woodson and Geneva, his brother Richard and his son, Gary. He is survived by his sister Dolores Fuller; his daughter Gayle Heady (Peg Capo); his five grandchildren Steven and Justin Borthick, Melanie, Scott and April Saunders; his great-grandchildren Trinity and Ashton Borthick and his good fishing buddy Russell Guethle.

Don passed away after a long illness, but through it all he never lost his zest for life. His many interests included computers, his family’s Scottish ancestry, and the great outdoors, especially his favorite Yellowstone National Park.

Visitation will be at 5:00 pm Friday, August 16, 2019 at First Christian Church of Florissant, 2890 Patterson Road, Florissant, MO 63031 with a memorial service immediately following at 6:00 pm. Donations may be made to the National Park Foundation at www.nationalparks.org.

    So sorry about your loss. I was blessed to have had Don as one of my mentors at the Emerson Motor Company. We sat together in the same cubicle and worked in the same Group for several years. I learned so much from Don, and still reference some of the documents he created Don was not only a good co-worker, he was a good friend. We shared many common interests, and enjoyed our time together.
