Dorothy Farris

Dorothy Marie Farris, age 89, passed away peacefully on June 18, 2021. She was born on March 16, 1932, to Claude and Ida (Pohlman) Farris.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her brothers Paul, Glen and Charles and her sisters Edna and Norma. She is survived by her brothers Ray (Vivian) Farris and Robert Farris; her two children Pamela (Bill) Rice and Michael Dennis; grandchildren Scott (Amy) Boyer, Jennifer Rice, Lauren Rice, Nicole (Richard) Palo, and Makayla Dennis; plus, four great grandchildren, Scotty, Ryan, Serenity and Savannah – all of whom she loved and touched deeply.

For many years Dorothy worked as a quality inspector at Sunnen, a manufacturing plant, in which she later retired from. Dorothy was passionate about gardening; she would spend copious amounts of time outdoors perfecting her garden and her yard. She was modest and humble; her life was not always easy, she never had much but she was grateful for what she had and the many life lessons she learned. She was generous with her words of wisdom. There was never a question in her intention, she gave her opinion without hesitation. Her love for her family was simple – unconditional and unwavering. She showed us the importance of honoring family and loving deeply.

A memorial will be held in honor of Dorothy at a later date. Please help us celebrate Dorothy’s life by donating to the Arthritis Foundation in her name.
