Regina D. Struharik

Struharik, Regina Dorothy

December 14, 1922 to March 22, 2019

Regina passed peacefully at her home on Friday March 22, 2019, in the 96th year of her life. She was the daughter of Thomas Boraski and Celia Meczkowski. She is survived by her loving daughter Janet, devoted son Tom and his wife Deborah. Regina will be greatly missed by her 5 grandchildren Neil, Kyle, Bret, Adam and Kelsey, as well as her loving friends and relatives.

A proud South St. Louis native, Regina was a fun loving young woman with an affinity for dancing. She spent much of her youth in the warm sun of Mosenthein Island swimming with her friends. Regina spoke fluent Polish, loved music and played accordion. She spent most of her adult career working in public service as an auditor for the United States Government.

Regina loved babysitting for her grandchildren when they were young and was always there for them when they

needed her. After retiring at the age of 65, Regina continued to live life to the fullest, and never turned down a chance to join her friends for an outing to the casino. She was an intelligent woman who was ever a constant source of love and admiration to her family. She met every challenge thrown at her with great bravery, and though they were many, Regina lived her last years with grace and dignity. May God keep her and make her whole.

A “Celebration of Life” will be held in honor of Regina at

Bellerive Garden Cemetery Mausoleum.

Most sincere condolences to Regina’s family. I am writing this on behalf of our mom, Flo Thomas — Regina’s friend and neighbor at Briarcrest. Regina was a kind, graceful, and devoted friend to our mom, and she will be sorely missed by mom and all of us who had the pleasure to know this gentle and thoughtful woman. May she rest in peace.
