Dorothy Olive Smart died at the age of 96 at home in Kirkwood, MO on July 15, 2012. Born on April 5, 1916, Dorothy was the oldest to 3 children born to Walter J. Keys and Ebba Peterson of Oak Park, Illinois. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Robert C. Smart, her son Robert C. Smart, Jr., and her brother Walter Keys. Dorothy is survived by her children & their spouses: William H. and Elaine Smart of Clearwater, FL., John C. and Sharon Smart of Kirkwood, Mo., Janet L. Smart, and daughter-in-law Joan Smart of Holland, MI. Dorothy also is survived by her sister Jane and 11 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, July 24, 2012 in the Chapel of the First Presbyterian Church in Kirkwood, MO at 3:00 pm. Final burial arrangements will be made at a later date at Mount Emblem Cemetery in Elmhurst, IL. In lieu of flowers, please consider the American Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.
