Douglas W. Raiford.
Douglas Whitmore Raiford passed away on September 23, 2024, at the age of 89. He was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force, having served during the Korean War. He had a long career with Southwestern Bell Yellow Pages and retired in St. Louis, Missouri.
Doug was a proud father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and devoted husband to Kaye D. Raiford for 61 years. His warm smile and infectious humor will be missed greatly. He was a man of faith and conviction, which he shared with his family and community. His love for football, especially his devotion to the Dallas Cowboys, was well known, and he rarely missed a game. He enjoyed hearty meals, holidays, and quality time with his family, often sharing his love for BBQ and southern dishes like boiled peanuts, keeping his Carolina roots alive.
One of Doug’s greatest joys was spending time recreating with family. His fondest memories were of his vacations in Canada, where he loved fishing. He also enjoyed playing golf with his father-in-law and made every attempt to beat him whenever possible, Doug cherished those moments, and the time spent together on the course.
His legacy of love and compassion will live on through his children and grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, October 7, 2024, at St. Mark Presbyterian Church, 601 Claymont Drive, Ballwin, MO. The service will follow at 11:00 a.m.
