I am so appreciative of the friendship I had with Dwayne had transcended all these years. His sense of humor was one of a kind and many times I was the only one in the room that understood it. He affected many lives more than people will know. My condolences to the whole family for this big loss.

It took me some time to post this because it’s still just so hard for me to believe.

I really can’t imagine life without you in it — you’ve been so much part of the fabric of not only my childhood and my adulthood, but my business, as well.

Thank you for the memories, the influence, the understanding, the caring, the advice, and most of all the laughs.

I was more than blessed that mom brought into my life. I am eternally grateful for having so many years with you and so many incredible memories and experiences.

You definitely are one of a kind and I was lucky to have you as a Dad. I’d choose you over and over again … in a hundred lifetimes, in a hundred worlds, in any version of reality. I’d find you, and I’d choose you.

My Dad was a special guy and a good friend to me. We were able to go on a road trip from St Louis to Detroit Lakes, MN together and I had the opportunity to hear his life story during the 26 hours we spent in the car together. What a true blessing that was! Though his death was sudden I know he wouldn’t have wanted it any other way. I will miss him immensely but I know he’s with his brother and best friend Darwyn watching over us. Love you Dad! Shyla Rae

Dewey was my high school classmate. There is always a deep feeling of loss and a renewed reminder of the brevity of life when a classmate dies. I remember him as a fun loving young man- a good guy respected and liked by his classmates. It is good to know that he lived a good life- loving his profession, his family and friends. God´s peace.

Rest in peace, my very good friend, Dewey. From before 1st grade to graduation at LPHS our friendship will never be forgotten. We played football and basketball together, duck hunted together, Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts together, Philmont Scout Ranch for a week together and shared all the good times. I miss and will always miss our great friendship. You were the best friend I could ever have.

I only gone to school with Dewey from 1957-1959. It was only when Lake Park had their all school reunion that I came back to see “old” classmates even tho’ I had not graduated with them. So glad I was able to connect with many at the time and then about 3 years ago a reunion was held at the Longtines and Dewey was there. Was sad to hear that he had passed away. Glad I was able to connect one more time to a great classmate.
