Dr. Harvey Mink

Dr. Harvey Windle Mink departed from this life on Friday, February 19th, 2016 at Missouri Baptist Hospital at the age of 89.

Dr. Mink was born on March 31st, 1926 in Springfield, Missouri. He was the son of the late John and Rebecca (Wilson) Mink. He was preceded in death by four brothers: Morris, Mark, Walter and Ronald Mink, as well as a sister, Olive Mink.

Dr. Mink was a kind and loving man. He served in the Philippines in Leyte during World War II. He spent some time as a brick mason before enrolling and graduating from Logan Chiropractic College. He worked for many years as a successful chiropractor in the St. Louis area, a job where his kind and caring nature really stood out.

He is survived by his beloved wife of over 60 years, Patricia (Smythe) Mink. Together they had four loving children: Michael Mink, Christina Mink Neuwoehner, Matthew Mink and McDaniel Mink. He was the father-in-law to Jacqueline Adams Mink and Alla Zaltsman Mink. He was the proud grandfather of Melanie (Perry) Mink West, Matthew John Mink, Danielle Mink Armstrong, Gabrielle Mink, Joseph Mink and Alexander Mink and the great-grandfather of Jette and Gemma West, Devon and Dante Armstrong and Gunner Donati. He was the brother-in-law of Judith Smith and the late Dr. Clarence Tompkins Smith. He was a dear uncle, cousin and friend to many.

Services: A burial service will be held for him on Friday, March 18, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery (2900 Sheridan Road, St. Louis MO 63125) with full military honors. Those wishing to attend the service should plan to meet the family at the administration building just inside the main cemetery gates no later than 10:45 am. (Please park in the parking lot behind the building). A reception for Dr. Mink will be held following the ceremony at 12:00 noon at The Pavilion at Lemay, 305 Gregg Road. St. Louis MO 63125 (inside Jefferson Barracks Park, just 5 minutes from the cemetery). There will be food and refreshments available while the memories are shared.
