Dr. Joseph Timothy Lane
Dr. Joseph Timothy Lane, age 73, of Fenton, Missouri, passed away on July 23, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones.
A proud native of the St. Louis area, Joe was a devoted fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and a loyal supporter of the St. Louis Battlehawks. His love for sports was matched only by his dedication to his profession and his community.
Joe graduated from Logan University in April 1983, where he was one of only two recipients of a special award recognizing excellence in adjusting technique—a sign of the remarkable career to come. Shortly after, he founded the Back and Neck Care Center of Webster Groves, where he cared for more than 10,000 patients over 41 years. His deep compassion and clinical expertise made him a trusted healer and friend to thousands.
Joe’s professional excellence was recognized repeatedly: he was named Chiropractor of the Year twice by the Missouri Chiropractic Physicians Association and, most recently, was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award earlier this summer.
Outside the office, Joe poured his heart into coaching youth baseball as a White Sox coach with the Fenton Athletic Association. He was an avid collector of Cardinals memorabilia and loved picking up pins from every place he traveled.
Joe is survived by his beloved wife of almost 50 years, Cindy; his son, Michael (Lauren Marie); his daughter, Lauren Ann; and his treasured granddaughter, Alexis. He is also survived by his brothers: Dennis, Michael (Suzanne), Luis (Debbie), Patrick (Susan), and many loving extended family members. He is preceded in death by his sister, Linda, and parents, Celesta and Clifford. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, mentor, and friend whose kindness, humor, and dedication to his family and profession left a lasting mark on all who knew him.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, August 31st, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Purser Center on the campus of Logan University in Chesterfield, Missouri. All are welcome to attend and share memories in honor of Joe’s remarkable life.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Joe’s memory to his favorite organizations: the American Chiropractic Association (ACA), the Missouri Chiropractic Physicians Association (MCPA), and Logan University.
Joe was an amazing person. Funny and kind. Sending love to Cindy, Mike and Lauren. XO
Congratulations to Joe and his amazing accomplishments as a Chiropractor and as a wonderful Father and Husband. He obviously gave a lot to his Community, Family, and the Profession!! I remember Joe as being a very kind and good person, although I didn’t know him well!!
God bless him and his family for all that they went through! I am sure he is happy now and resting in peace!
Joe was such a good and kind being. My best memory of him is on Mother’s Day when you all were seriously dating, Joe brought Mom a bouquet of flowers and thanked her for having you Cindy, remember. As a result, no one Cheryl and I dated from that point on, could measure up to Joe’s thoughtful gesture. Also, through the years, Joe always took my calls, whether it was about his thoughts on a patient I was treating, how my sisters were doing and of course how we all were especially after my husband David’s death. Enjoy the Jim Freeman poem I sent you…It is among my favorites, and it will give you much comfort as it has given me over the years. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. So, it is just the three of us and our families left now. I would like to be in touch, after all we are sisters. I was glad to see that your son and his family are with you. Lean on them now and in the coming days. And how wonderful…you are a grandma…I can only presume that we all are as good as the one we had. I’ll be thinking of you all at Joe’s celebration of life, at Logan nonetheless, how appropriate. Love, Candy
