The Lord’s Prayer

Matthew 6:9-13

“Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be

done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our

debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from

evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen”

It saddens me to learn of the passing of Sergeant Major Earl Armstrong Sr. We have come to know this giant as an example setter, an NCO and soldier in the truest sense of the word, and I doubt if there are many men among our ranks who possess his depth in knowledge and high regard for others. His long service and dedication to the United States Army and the United States Army Reserve will be cherished always. The entire NCO Corps thanks everyone for keeping him and his family in your thoughts and prayers. There are many in the ranks that believe for every fallen soldier like him there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift God has given the Corps. Lord you cried at the death of Your beloved friend Lazarus. You have known sorrow and grief, suffering and sadness. Lord, you have now reminded us that this sergeant major who has died in Christ will be ours again in the day of resurrection. Rest easy, sleep well Sergeant Major. Know the line was held, your job is done. Rest easy, sleep well. Others have taken up where you fell. Peace, peace, and farewell…
