Eddie Cox
Eddie Wayne Cox passed away peacefully on March 5, 2026, surrounded by loved ones
at his home in Saint Peters, Missouri at the age of 63. He was born on April 14, 1962, in
Dexter, Missouri.
Eddie, Pops, Poppy found joy in the simple things – being around his grandkids (Vinny
and Aria) and spending time with family and friends. His presence brought warmth, lots
of laughter, and love to every gathering. He was superman as we all liked to say. He
fought a very hard and long fight the last two years. Everyone always said he had nine
lives, which he really did. If you knew Eddie, Pops, Poppy you knew he cared and loved
everyone in his life, he’d do anything for anyone. He had a love for scratch offs, a good
cheeseburger, joking around and KC Chiefs football!
Eddie was preceded in death by his parents John E. Cox and Betty (Rose) Cox as well
as his brother, Timothy Cox.
He is survived by his loving wife, Connie Cox, his daughter Chelsea Weems and
husband Doug Weems; his son Timothy Cox, and his two favorite precious
grandchildren, Vinny and Aria Weems.
He is also survived by his siblings: John Cox; Barbara Zehr and husband Steve Zehr;
Diane Cox; Barbara Cox, wife of Timothy Cox; along with numerous nieces and
nephews whom he loved deeply, as well as a host of other friends and family who will
forever cherish his memory.
Eddie, Pops, Poppy will be remembered for his courage, strength and being a hero to
many of those in his life. Heaven gained the strongest, fiercely loyal and funniest angel
ever. We all know he is up in heaven cracking jokes, making everyone laugh and
hopefully having a good cheeseburger!
We will be having a celebration of life in honor of Eddie, Pops, Poppy this summer so
more details to come.
