Eddy Sipka

Eddy Joe Sipka, 66 of Pekin, IL passed away Saturday, February 28, 2026 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO. Eddy was born April 18, 1959 in Pekin, IL to Edward Joseph Sipka, and Mary F.J (Chitwood) Sipka. They preceded him in death. Also preceding him were his sisters Sherrie Sipka and Lori Sipka and one grandson, Carter Sipka.

He married Lisa Selburg on August 9, 1980 in Pekin, IL. She survives. Also surviving are one daughter, Kyann (Ryan) Williams, of Pekin, one son, Joseph (Cari) Sipka of Mapleton. Grandchildren Kaelyn, Shea, Brynley, Adrianne, Skylar, Jackson, and Grace. Two sisters, Karla Sipka of Pekin, and Paula (James) Jennings of Pekin, and many nieces and nephews.

Eddy worked for Tazewell Machine Works in Pekin for 43 years. He retired in 2022, having been the longest tenured employee.

Eddy enjoyed hunting, fishing, NASCAR, St. Louis Cardinals, the Green Bay Packers, and was an excellent bowler, having bowled in many leagues years ago. He even bowled with the pros at Lanmark back in 1981. Every day since retirement started with picking up a newspaper from Beck’s and every afternoon, a drive down by the river. Ed loved anticipating a good thunderstorm and as a true midwesterner, standing on the front porch looking at the sky. His sense of humor was one of a kind and he told the best “dad jokes”, which he passed down to Joe. His favorite thing to do was take spontaneous weekend trips with his wife, often to St. Louis, Iowa, or Wisconsin.

The family would like to thank the entire staff at Barnes Jewish Hospital, especially Mary Sullivan NP and Dr. Masood. The staff went above and beyond to show great compassion. They all took excellent care of Eddy, sharing their excitement of every baby step in progress that he achieved. They also would like to thank friends and family for all their support, prayers, and words of encouragement. It truly meant the world to know how massive the Army of Angels was that surrounded our family during this time.

There will be no services at this time, per Eddy’s request. There will be a Celebration of Life held at a later date, with more information to come.

Beautiful..Eddy lived a life well loved. He had much to rejoice over, a family that was devoted to him. I always loved the pictures of Lisa & Eddys get-a-ways. It didn’t matter how far you went but that you were together.
Eddy will be so missed, but, his presence will be near. My love to all of his beloved family.
