Edward E. Vojtech

March 25, 1933 – December 27, 2019

Edward Everett Vojtech, 86, of St. Louis, Missouri passed away on December 27, 2019 of heart failure following surgery for a fractured hip.

He was born to Edward W. Vojtech and Lena (Voss) Vojtech on March 25, 1933 in Phillips, Wisconsin. Edward graduated from Phillips High School. He served in the Air Force as an aircraft mechanic during the Korean War. After his military service, he managed a Texaco gas station in Columbus, Ohio. He returned to Phillips, Wisconsin in 1963 as Transportation Supervisor for Phillips School District. He worked as an auto and semi truck mechanic. He became owner of a resort and a logging business. He moved to Quartzsite, Arizona in 1986 where he enjoyed retirement. He moved to St. Louis in 2017.

Edward married Patricia Caldwell on June 5, 1954. Their union was blessed with two children, Teresa and Ken. The marriage was dissolved in 1973. Edward was married to Elizabeth (nee Simon) from July 1975 until she died in 1998. Edward remained close to the love of his life, Patricia Vojtech and spoke with her almost daily during the 65 year bond between them.

Edward loved touring the country in his Greyhound bus. He trail blazed many of the snowmobile trails in Price County, Wisconsin. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing cards.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Betty Vojtech.

Edward is survived by his daughter, Teresa Douglas (Mark Servais) and his son Kenneth (Sheila) Vojtech. He is also survived by his two brothers, Walter (Barbara) Vojtech, and Paul (Elsa) Vojtech. Edward has six grandchildren: Tonya Warren, Jim Smetak, Angela Ventimiglia, Kevin Vojtech, Danielle Vojtech, and Cody Vojtech. He is also survived by six great grandchildren: Brendan Smetak, Ethan Richter, Brailynn Haubrich, Karter Vojtech, and Allyson Vojtech.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at St. Louis Cremation, 2135 Chouteau Ave, St Louis, MO 63103. Visitation begins at 2:00 pm, followed by Memorial Service at 3:00 pm.

    Ed had a great sense of humor and was so charismatic with the ladies! And he brought so much joy to his family and friends. Especially his lovely daughter Teresa, that loved him so much.
