Edward L. Campbell

God gives us each the gift of life to cherish from birth. Then, when our work on earth is done, He calls us to his side. A life came to a close when God, in his infinite wisdom, allowed death to come and quietly take Edward L. Campbell on Tuesday, December 12th, 2017.
Edward was born on March 16, 1950 in St. Louis, Missouri to Vivian M. Jackson. He was the 2nd born of 7 children. His mother and two brothers, Vincent Charles Jackson and Vyron Lamar Jackson preceded him in death.
Edward attended St. Louis Public School. As a young man, Edward loved to fish and to aggravate his siblings, and he was a huge Cardinals baseball fan. Edward served his country in the U.S. Army, being inducted in 1971 and honorably discharged in 1973. In his later years, Edward devoted his life to Christ.
We were all blessed to have him in our lives. To know him was to love him. Ed was a “Viking” to the end.
Edward leaves behind to cherish his memory: three sisters, Marcia Miller, Valarie McLaurin and Verlessia Edwards; one brother, Vernon Jackson; a host of nieces, nephews and many friends. The family would also like to give special thanks to his caretakers, Ira and Sharon Johnson.
Services: A memorial Celebration of Life will be held for him at the chapel of St. Louis Cremation, 2135 Chouteau Ave., St. Louis MO 63103 on Friday, December 22, 2017 with visitation beginning at 10 am and service at noon, followed by a procession to Jefferson Barracks for a burial service with full military honors.
