Edward Ronald Wood

Edward Ronald Wood, 78, of St. Louis, MO, died on Tuesday, November 24, 2020.

He was born June 24, 1942 in St. Louis, MO to Emmett Edward and Audrey Viola (Chrisco) Wood. He married the late Mary Lou Loeffler and had one daughter. Later in life, Ron was a partner to lifelong friend Diane Elliot.

Mr. Wood spent most of his professional career in the St. Louis area serving as General Manager of The Sunmark Corporation. He was an avid hunter and fisherman with a passion for boating, the outdoors, and wildlife. Ron enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports, listening to music, and reminiscing about family gatherings.

Survivors include his daughter Jennifer (Wood) Lengyel; 2 grandchildren: Jeremy and Erica Lengyel; sister Carol (Larry) Gibbs; nephews: Eric (Jennifer) and John Gibbs; great-nephew: Cannon Gibbs all from St. Louis, MO and several cousins and extended family.

Preceding him in death were his parents and wife.

At Mr. Wood’s request, his body was donated to Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis for the advancement of science, where he attended two years of undergraduate studies.
