Edward Terry

Edward Terry, born on May 17, 1946, in Washington, Missouri, peacefully passed away on October 27, 2025, in St. Louis, Missouri.

Edward proudly served his country in the United States Army from January 15, 1964, to October 30, 1966, stationed at Fort Riley, Kansas. During his time in the military, he was deployed to the Vietnam War, where he served honorably as both a personnel specialist and a decorated marksman. His dedication, discipline, and commitment to excellence earned him numerous
certifications, including his GED and training in military justice. After receiving an honorable discharge, Edward continued his service in the Army Reserves for three additional years.

A man of intellect and curiosity, Edward deeply valued education and personal growth. He was an avid reader and enjoyed engaging conversations that expanded the mind. When not studying or reading, he found joy in simple pleasures—most notably, playing cards with his family, where his wit and sense of humor always shone through.

Edward was preceded in death by his mother, Queene Ester Powell, his siblings Brenda Hogan, Denise Hogan, Shelby Bates, and his son, Derrick Terry. He leaves behind cherished memories in the hearts of his siblings Dewey McGregor, James Hogan, Lamarr Powell, Alphonso Powell, Michael Hogan, Ruth Fair, Vivian Johnson, Renae Powell, his son Herman Smith, his beloved granddaughter, Erica Terry and a host of nieces and nephews who will continue to honor his legacy.

Edward Terry will be remembered for his wisdom, service, and gentle spirit. His memory will live on through the many lives he touched and the values he instilled in those who
knew and loved him.
