Eileen J. Ladd, passed away peacefully on March 13, 2025 at the age of 95, in St. Louis, Missouri, after a long journey with dementia. Eileen donated her body to Saint Louis University’s Gift Body Program, which is a program committed to excellence in research and education.
She was born in Violet, Texas to Karl and Alma Hoelscher, and worked alongside her nine siblings on the family farm. She met and married Norbert Ladd in 1953 and they moved to St. Louis MO to raise their family. Eileen dedicated her life to her family, faith, and community.
Eileen was the devoted wife to Norbert (deceased in 2011) and loving mother to five children: Janice Edney (Dennis), Gary Ladd (Beth), Diane Smith (Dan), Sharon Albritton (Dan), and Judy Christ (Matt). She was a cherished grandmother to 12 and a beloved great-grandmother to 18.
Eileen was a wonderful homemaker who found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She was a parishioner for 58 years, a dedicated choir member, and an active volunteer at St. Margaret Mary Alacoque Parish. She nurtured her family, friendships, and many gardens with loving care. Her kindness, faith, and unwavering love will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
A memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, April 5th at 10:00 AM at St. Margaret Mary Alacoque Church, 4900 Ringer Rd, St. Louis, MO 63129, with visitation in the church lobby starting at 9:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Eileen’s memory to a dementia research or support organization of your choice, or donations to St. Margaret Mary Alacoque Church.
