Elaine Geiger Ziegler
August 24, 1951 – October 7, 2025
On October 7, 2025, our beloved Elaine Geiger Ziegler left this earth. Elaine was born on August 24, 1951 in Chattanooga, Tennessee to Lillian and Gus Geiger. She was preceded in death by her sister, Claire Geiger, and both of her parents. She is survived by her husband, Thomas Ziegler, her brother, Ted Geiger and sister-in-law, Sue Geiger. She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Williams and her grandchildren: Alex Standridge, Nicole Standridge (Grace Standridge), Casey Lewis (Matt Lewis), Chase Williams, and her great grandson, August Standridge.
Elaine’s faith and family were foremost in her life. She was a lifelong and devoted member of First Church of Christ, Scientist in Decatur, Alabama. Elaine was active in her community and was heavily involved with the Boy Scouts for the last several decades. Elaine enjoyed playing tennis and bridge with her friends and was an incredibly talented artist (particularly with watercolors). She loved to travel the world as often as she could and built cherished lifelong memories with her family. We take solace in a life well lived, and sorrow in her passing. She will be profoundly missed by those that knew and loved her.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 17, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home in Decatur, Alabama.

Elaine & I were friends for over 30 years. Met her through tennis, took lessons together & became doubles partners. We played for fun and in many USTA tournaments together. Our 55 & Over team won the State of AL tournament at the 3.5 level, in 2016. We all travelled to Asheville, NC and competed in their Sectional tournament. We started the Golden Girls Dinner Club with a few close girl friends. Even after we retired, life was still busy and family came first but this was our way to stay in touch. Our goal was to meet every other month and celebrate our friendship. Elaine lived her faith. She always had a smile, hugs and positive comment for every one. We could discuss anything and I knew she would unconditionally, give me her love and support. When my mom passed, she was there with hugs, tears and food :)) She was a dear friend and will be missed so much
