Betty was a devout Catholic and fortified with the sacraments of the church. She and her husband lived in
Memphis TN and Kansas City MO and enjoyed many trips together. Coming home to visit family was always
important to her! She loved spending time with her nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews,
especially when they were younger. After her husband died Betty returned to St. Louis in 2002 to be closer to
her family.
Betty worked for banks, savings and loans and for an insurance company but she really enjoyed being a
volunteer. She donated her time at church groups, the Kansas City Zoo and at the Saint Joseph Hospital gift
shop.
Betty loved gardening – growing flowers, fruits and vegetables. She made homemade applesauce, relishes, and
breads that she would bring into town to share with her family. She enjoyed bowling, bingo, the St Louis
Cardinals, puzzles, games and an ice-cold beer in a frosty glass. She loved working on a variety of craft
projects. She spent hours and hours creating ornaments, gifts and decorations for herself, family, friends and
to sell. Holidays were filled with memories of homemade cookies and her abundance of decorations!
Service: A Roadside Service at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery will be held on Monday, April 29th at
