Else Ann Hirzel

Else Ann Hirzel (nee Kurth) entered into eternal life on the morning of October 13, 2023, with her husband and brother at her side.

“Elsa” is survived by her husband, Timothy Hirzel;  brother, Fredric Kurth (Patti);  and brother-in-law, Robert Hirzel (Rose).  She is also survived by a nephew and nieces: Christopher Kurth (Kellan); Andrea Russell (NoToane); Amanda Kurth; Heather Potter (Russ); and Erin Roesch (Keith) along with great-nephews and great-nieces Isabella and Sophia Kurth; Cameron, Pierce, Maxwell and Elliana Russell;  Cassandra Potter and Peyton Roesch. 

Elsa also leaves behind friends within the St Cronan community; the St Louis Orienteering Club; the Hidden Valley Ski Patrol; the Discovery Expedition of St. Charles; Dance Discovery and the English Country Dance communities in St. Louis; the Westminster Neighborhood in the Central West End; the Cathedral Parish of St. Louis; as well as friends and relatives in California, Utah, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Maryland and Georgia.

A service in celebration of Elsa’s life will be held Saturday, February 24, 2024 (the day following her birthdate) at St. Cronan Church, 1202 S Boyle, St. Louis, MO 63110.  Elsa donated her body to science and education.  A celebration of her life and visitation with family will commence at 10 a.m., with Mass at 11:00 a.m., followed by a luncheon reception at the Church Center across the street.

    The warmth of Elsa’s heart is still felt on earth today.
